Fall Workshop Series: Orchard Pest & Disease ID + Organic Management • Saturday, September 6th, 2025 • 11am-1pm

Funny marks on your fruit? Seeing damage outside, or in? Is something creepy crawling through your apple or pear?Join us in the Home Orchard Education Center Community Orchard to learn what health challenges you might encounter in your orchard and how to manage them.

Students will join us on a scouting trip through the orchard, where we will learn to identify signs of common pests and problems and discuss some of the organic methods and strategies used to help minimize disease and insect challenges.

Part 1: Online - At home at your own pace. Materials will be sent out in advance of the in-person visit.

Part 2: In-Person - At the HOEC Community Orchard. In-person guided exploration with Q&A after.

Know before you go:

  • Bring a pad of paper and something to write with if you’d like to take notes!

  • All workshops are held outdoors rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.

  • Bring your own water bottle. 

Refunds:

  • Due to limited class space, please note: workshops are non-refundable after purchase with the exception of weather related campus closures.
